This day is about climbing to the highest peak! But also about the lovely views of the Hula Valley and its natural treasures.

28/4 Western Galilee - Yom Hasho’a (Holocaust Remembrance Day)

On this day, which is dedicated to the commeration of the holocaust, we will ride together in the beautiful Western Galilee and participate in the main Yom Hashoa ceremony at “Beit Lohamei Haghetaot” (The Ghetto Fighters' House Meuseum). The day will conclude with a night tour of the old city of Acre.

The last day of the tour will include participation in a special ride in Ramat-Hadassah Youth Village: a ride together with some 80 girl riders from all of Bartali’s programs, around the beautiful green hills of Tivon. At the end of the ride, we will celebrate the end of our tour with the launching of the new Ramat Hadassah Pump Track, alongside friends and guests of Bartali - Youth in Movement and Ramat-Hadassah Youth Village.

The ride

Bartali Gravel Tour welcomes riders of all levels. You will ride in one of three guided groups according to your experience and ability:

  • Level 1 - Intermediate: 3-4 hours with some climbs and descents

  • Level 2 - Advanced: 4-6 hours with challenging climbs and descents

The tour will be led and supported by professional instructors and mechanics from the Bartali - Youth in Movement staff and young trainees.

Why Gravel?

When planning the Bartali Gravel Tour, we envisioned a ride that would enable riders of all levels to discover the beauty of the Israeli outdoors as we know it, while avoiding the risks of riding on busy roads.

The traffic in Israel is very hectic and many drivers are not attuned to cyclist safety. Gravel roads are therefore much safer and sticking to such roads also means having more fun, being more relaxed, and generally enjoying the cycling experience a lot more. In General, Gravel is considered to be less focused on the “Finish Line” and more about the journey itself, which is the exact philosophy of Bartali - Youth in Movement in general.

While we won’t be able to avoid riding on roads entirely, we have made the maximum effort to choose a balanced route that can accommodate riders at almost every level.

We highly recommend that road riders with little or no off-road experience try gravel riding ahead of the event to be better prepared.

Participants may ride gravel or mountain bikes. We suggest that you bring your own bike.

Rental of MTB and E-MTB will be possible for early orders (limited numbers and sizes).
